About Miriam Eisengruber

Hi, I’m Miriam and Pilates is my passion. I love the deep accuracy, mindfulness, and conscious body awareness that accompanies training, as well as the athletic flow that an intense Pilates class can create.

In my everyday life as a mother of three, the world is sometimes upside down. Nevertheless, I try to find time for small breaks to do something good for me, my body, my mind: Pilates, dancing and time in the nature. Okay, coffee and chocolate too.  🙂

After my first Pilates lesson, which was supposed to save my back for my sports studies in 2002, I knew: THIS is it, that’s awesome! That’s what I want to send it into the world. This training method including several educations and workshops has accompanied and inspired me for over 20 years and is often the savior in need. Be it when my back hurts, when it’s time for some exercises for my pelvic floor or when I switch the music on and create a new Pilates Flow Choreografie. Movement makes me happy and even a few minutes help so that I am somehow a whole me again and not just a stressed mommy, a herniated disc or a tense neck.

And maybe I’m also a good example that you don’t have to have the perfectly fit and flexible body to do Pilates. My body is still challenging me and I’m not sooo disciplined in doing my self training routine. But I enjoy movement, breath, body, mind, soul and life! I’m convinced that the body wants allways to be in balance and is doing its best for me. I just have to support him.

In Germany, as studio manager, I helped set up a health center, which is now the largest Pilates studio in Germany and is also known worldwide due to its headquarters, Polestar Pilates Europe Education. Since I studied sports science, I have been in contact with athletes a lot and was a specialist in sport-specific Pilates training and individual training with athletes. To this day, I am enthusiastic about the potential of Pilates exercises, from which almost every sport can benefit, as the six Pilates principles (breathing, flow, centering, control, precision, concentration) can also be found in sport.

I now concentrate on women’s health and support women during their pregnancy, mothers in postnatal care, women with pelvic floor problems and women in the menopause with my Pilates repertoire. Unfortunately, the topic of the pelvic floor receives little attention in our society and women are often only advised to strengthen or tense it, which in my opinion is quite unhealthy and counterproductive for our female pelvic health. Due to my own pelvic floor history and rectus diastasis, I try to work towards a relaxed, energetic, lively pelvic floor that regains its strength through a lot of mobilization and sensitization.
I would be happy to help you so that you feel good in your body again. I would be happy to impart a lot of knowledge and feeling for yourself and help you with Pilates exercises to achieve deep stability, flexibility, balance and a happy life with a smile in your center and happy shoulders! 🙂

I looove travelling and in my time as a Polestar Pilates Presenter I travelled through south america where I met my german – almost canadian husband. Meanwhile we have three kids and a cool, old Expedition- Landcruiser with which we conquer the world. (more on Instagram itchyfeet.sweden)
